Bird Watching

Our preserves offer habitat for hundreds of bird species in southeastern Wisconsin!

Bird watching is both peaceful and exciting. While enjoying the quiet and calm of the natural world, the thrill of discovering a new species while out on a preserve is something passionate birders look forward to. Our preserves provide wonderful habitat for birds, some of which are located in central migratory flyways.

Be a Community Scientist with eBird!

Your sightings contribute to hundreds of conservation decisions and peer-reviewed papers, thousands of student projects, and help inform bird research worldwide.

To use eBird:

  1. Download the eBird app
  2. Click “Start Checklist”
  3. You have the option to choose location or it may automatically link your location
  4. Observe birds by sight or sound and add them to your Checklist
  5. Your data is automatically uploaded to eBird and accessible by our stewardship staff and scientists around the world!

 

We use this data to help inform management and planting plans to support bird populations.
