Future Conservation Leaders Learning and Working Together to Build a Brighter Future

High school interns are provided a paid opportunity over each summer season to restore forest cover, remove invasive species, and promote native vegetation to support biodiversity and better ecosystem function.

Our ECP Intern program engages underrepresented youth in restoration and stewardship and creates a professional development pipeline beyond high school while producing measurable results for improving carbon storage, climate resilience and water quality. In addition, program participants create connections to other youth and receive career training and soft skills development.

Restoring Lands’ Emerging Conservation Professionals Internship Program is part of the Environmental Youth Collaborative. The EYC is made up of about a dozen environmental youth-serving organizations that collectively employ over 145 youth each summer at an estimated 22,000 hours of youth employment. EYC membership means that our interns get to connect with other teens that have a passion for the environment, meet experts in the field, and get support for their future career goals.
