Nature journaling, similar to field sketching, involves the art of drawing and notetaking inspired by the natural world. This event, with ARTservancy artist Rebecca Jabs, will guide participants through the process of keen observation. By paying close attention, we can discover details that might have gone unnoticed, capture memories we may otherwise forget, and enhance our understanding and appreciation of the biodiversity at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve.
-Dress for the weather! Wear comfortable walking shoes and consider insect and sun protection. A brimmed hat or baseball cap is highly recommended. If the weather is warm, consider bringing a bottle of water.
-Bring a sketchbook and a sharpened pencil. You are welcome to bring along additional art or sketching supplies if you wish. Please bring your own water in a lidded container if you plan on using any watercolors, etc; there is no sink available at this site.
-Optional but highly recommended: a lightweight foldable camp chair, so you can be comfortably seated wherever you find an inspiring subject.
-Meet at the Forest Beach Migratory Preserve parking lot, and we will walk to the site together.
