RESTORING LANDS LEGACY CIRCLE
Leave a legacy for future generations!
Restoring Lands Legacy Circle
The Restoring Lands Legacy Circle is a membership group for those who prioritize land conservation and restoration among their top giving priorities.
Legacy Gifts include:
- Board Service
- Planned Gifts such as bequests, gifts from a retirement account, or naming Restoring Lands as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy
- Conservation Easements
- Ongoing monthly or annual support at a personally significant level
- Major gifts resulting in permanent land protection
"Placing a conservation easement on the land was the perfect solution to keeping the farmland intact and undeveloped, while also making sure the land is kept consistent with good conservation principles."
“I want children to have what I had—a place where they can wander, imagine, and just be. There’s something so healing about open space.”
"What I would say to others is that, for me, giving to secure something 'In Perpetuity' is a very satisfying legacy."
“I feel relieved. I know the land is in good hands. I’ll move on one day. I wanted someone paying attention to the land. This is part of my distribution process. I’m doing this for the wild animals and the people.”
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts can be a tax-efficient way to make a legacy gift! Some of the more common planned gift strategies include:
- Naming Restoring Lands as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement plan.
- Making a bequest to Restoring Lands in your last will and testament.
- Naming Restoring Lands as a beneficiary of a charitable trust. Your attorney or financial advisor can advise you of the various types of charitable trusts and assist you in establishing a trust that is tailored to your personal needs.
- Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your retirement account
Some of the above-mentioned planned giving strategies may have a greater tax benefit to you than others. Please consult with your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy would work best for you.
