Located along the Milwaukee River in the Town of Grafton, Bratt Woods is 17 acres. The preserve borders the Milwaukee River and contains a well-maintained 0.63-mile loop trail through an intact hardwood forest offering preserve users a chance to imagine what the expansive upland forests that covered southeast Wisconsin prior to European settlement looked and felt like. The forest and the river benefit migrating birds that need a place to rest. The Ozaukee Interurban Trail runs along the southern border of the preserve. Bratt Woods offers a relatively flat walking trail with occasional rocks and roots, with easy access to the Milwaukee River.
There is NO HUNTING ALLOWED at Bratt Woods. To respect and protect the sensitive plant and animal communities that thrive here, please keep dogs on leash at all times.
To visit, park at the northeast corner of the preserve in the small cul-de-sac on East Cedar Creek Road. If on bike or walking, you may also enter through the southern entrance off the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, although NO BIKES are allowed in the preserve.
