Located in the Town of Erin, WI, Schoofs Preserve is 51 acres. This preserve contains a diversity of wetland habitats such as lowland hardwood, lowland conifer, lowland mixed, fresh (wet) meadow with a small pond, and access to Flynn Creek, a tributary of the Oconomowoc River. The upland habitats of the property include hardwood forest, upland meadow and a conifer plantation. Because of its diverse habitats, this preserve is home to eagles, falcons, hawks, deer and coyotes, and numerous small fish and aquatic insects. More than 2.3 miles of trail take you through each of this preserve’s unique habitats.
In winter, Schoofs is a great place to cross-country ski! When there is enough snow, some of the trails are groomed for skiing. To respect and protect the sensitive plant and animal communities that thrive here, please keep dogs on leash at all times.
