The Biehl Nature Preserve is 283 acres and includes public access to the 53-acre Lake Twelve. Enjoy hiking, fishing, and non-motorized boating.

Located along the North Branch Milwaukee River, this 60-acre preserve features wetlands, grasslands, floodplain forest, and agricultural fields, attracting blackbirds in their migration season. There are no hiking trails at this preserve.

Located along the Milwaukee River and the Interurban Bike Trail, Bratt Woods is 17 acres of mature hardwood forest with a clear walking trail and river access.

Cedar Springs Preserve (formerly Center Lane) offers 82 acres of untamed natural area. Explore an extensive network of forested wetland, upland woods, cattail marsh, and a man-made pond.

The Cedarburg Environmental Study Area (CESA) is 40 acres and includes wetland, ponds, and planted conifer and hardwood forest. Visit to hike, bird watch, fish, hunt, or cross-country ski.

This preserve contains an extensive trail system that loops through an intact hardwood forest along the Milwaukee River.

Located along Lake Michigan, Donges Bay Gorge Natural Area is 24 acres. This preserve contains eroding lake bluff, upland woods, and a ravine that extends through the property.

This 160-acre preserve contains nearly 1.5 miles of undeveloped Milwaukee River frontage, with an extensive trail system that loops through planted prairie, hardwood swamp, and floodplain forest.

Once a golf course slated for development, this preserve was instead protected and is in the process of being restored to be a hub for migratory birds along the Lake Michigan coast.
