Request for Interest in Ownership: The Restoring Lands Farm
Restoring Lands is interested in transitioning our ownership of approximately 60 acres of agricultural and forested land in Mequon, WI, via a fair market value real estate sale to a person or entity that will utilize the property for agricultural purposes while supporting the connections between healthy soil, thriving ecosystems and strong communities.
The land trust purchased the property in February 2020 to further our community and environmental goals, including 1) to provide an opportunity to create a model of restorative farming that enhances soil, water, biodiversity and human health, and 2) to support pathways to land access and ownership for farmers historically and currently underrepresented in the area.
Purpose of the Request: Restoring Lands is seeking farmers who align with our conservation values while bringing their own ideas and insights to steward this land, with the goal of purchasing the property. To promote farmer sovereignty and economic success while protecting and improving water quality, we encourage historically disinvested communities to apply for this
opportunity.

Request for Proposals: Comprehensive Facilities Planning Services
Restoring Lands invites proposals from qualified planning, design, and/or architectural firms to conduct a comprehensive facilities planning study. This engagement will deliver clear, data-driven recommendations addressing three core outcomes:
- Identification of the optimal location for a future Stewardship and Restoration Headquarters serving southeast Wisconsin, with a focus on the Milwaukee River corridor and Lake Michigan shoreline.
- Evaluation of whether Restoring Lands should lease, build, and/or operate such a facility, including ownership and development scenarios.
- Recommendations for maintaining or enhancing the Milwaukee and West Bend offices to maximize operational effectiveness and community benefit.
The selected consultant will guide organizational leadership through a structured decision-making process that results in a practical, phased facilities roadmap aligned with mission, growth, and long-term stewardship needs. Consultants may recommend evaluation criteria refinements as part of their proposal.
Anticipated Schedule (proposals must include a detailed schedule aligned with this timeline):

- Questions Due: May 15, 2026
- Pre-Proposal Conference: May 28, 2026
- Proposals Due: June 11, 2026
- Consultant Selected: July 1, 2026
- Project Completion: March 2027
